Washington—Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) and Vice Chairman Saxby Chambliss (R-Ga.) today announced that the committee unanimously voted to confirm Gen. David Petraeus to be the next director of the Central Intelligence Agency.

In a joint statement, Feinstein and Chambliss said: “Gen. Petraeus is an outstanding public servant and one of our country’s finest officers. The committee voted unanimously today to report his nomination to the full Senate. We look forward to a speedy confirmation this week so Gen. Petraeus can take the reins of the CIA at this critical time for our country.”
